Jewellery Care

At Soraé we believe jewellery is meant to be lived in – but like all precious things, it appreciates a little love. Silver and stainless steel are strong enough for daily wear, but they'll shine longer if you keep them away from water, sweat, and chemicals. Slip your jewellery on as the finishing touch of your look, and let it be the first thing you take off when the day is done. Store each piece separately so it can rest safely until you wear it again.

Sterling Silver (925)

Silver is timeless but naturally soft, which makes it more sensitive to scratches or bending. It may darken over time – a natural process that can easily be polished away. Showering won't harm it, but avoiding frequent exposure to water, chlorine, and salt will help it stay bright. Use a soft silver cloth to clean and store in a dry pouch.

Our goldsmith can also professionally polish, restore, or even resize your silver jewellery. This way, your favorite piece gets a fresh new start. Contact us for details.

Sterling Silver with 18k Gold Plating

Gold plating gives silver a luxurious glow, but it is more delicate by nature. Over time, the finish may fade – this is normal and part of its charm. To extend its life, always remove gold-plated pieces before bathing, swimming, or exercising, and avoid direct contact with creams, perfume, or sweat. Store separately and clean gently with a very soft, chemical-free cloth.

Premium Stainless Steel

Our stainless steel is strong, durable, and colorfast – perfect for everyday wear. It can handle rain or hand washing with ease. To keep the finish sleek and the shine long-lasting, avoid chlorine and salt water. A quick polish with a soft cloth is all it takes to restore its glow.

Pearls

A pearl is the only gem created by a living being. Layer upon microscopic layer of nacre slowly forms inside a mollusc over months or years — a quiet, natural process you don't find anywhere else in jewellery. That same slow layering is what gives a pearl its glow, and what makes every one a little different.

Freshwater and saltwater pearls share this same nature, and the same care. Pearls are soft — softer than metal, and more responsive to the world around them. Perfume, creams, heat and friction all leave their mark over time. The simplest rule: they go on last, come off first. Let scent and lotion settle on the skin before putting pearl pieces on, and keep them out of the shower, pool, sauna and sea.

Store them apart from harder jewellery — a soft pouch or separate compartment is kindest to the surface. A gentle wipe with a soft dry cloth after wearing keeps them looking their best.

Pearls are never quite finished. The natural oils on your skin seem to nourish the nacre with each wear — pearls that are worn often grow warmer and more characterful with time, while ones that sit unworn for years can begin to dry out. In that sense, the best care for a pearl is simply to keep it close.
